A new way forward?

I've just signed up to the manifesto of the New Generation Network.

I meant to do it last week, but didn't get around to it. When I saw Dave Hill's marvellous article on the Grauniad's CiF, I knew that I had been tardy.

If only to increase the total number of signatories by 1, it's worth it, but it's also important to live by the manifesto as well as support it:

Our principles
1) An end to communal politics

2) Against prejudice
3) For equality
4) We believe in freedom of speech
5) We are for respecting people's multiple identities
6) A new national conversation about race

I can't think of anyone on the 'progressive' side of politics who should fail to support these aims.

How can a lefty like you say they believe in 'Freedom of Speech', you posts on various blogs have shown you to be an intolerent marxist .

Hypocrisy rules OK.

Bet you're in UAF (Unite Against Freedom)

Where do these creeps come from?

Look, 'Anonymous', who are so into the ethos of the blog that there is no way for me or anyone else to know what sort of comments you have left elsewhere yourself...

I am not a Marxist (as it is, some BNP economic policies are quite Marxist in their own way), but I am a socialist. Socialism pre-dates Marx, which you might be aware of if you weren't some idiotic sloganeer who sneeks around trying to be clever. The only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance itself.

What have I posted that gives you the opposite impression? Where?

I allow you the freedom to post a comment here, and I don't agree with banning political parties (I do think that there's nothing wrong with campaigning against them though), but I do think that racism is criminal.

How much do you want to bet? I'm not in Unite Against Fascism, although as there is a meeting next week to set up a branch in Crawley, I think I might just pop along and see if I can help out.

Thanks for the inspiration. Moron
